WHAT: Rubbermaid is hosting a job fair in partnership with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to recruit employees for its expanded operations in northeast Ohio. The company is investing $25 million to expand production at its existing Mogadore manufacturing facility and more than $25 million to construct a new 800,000 square foot distribution center in Brimfield Township, adding a total of 219 jobs. The job fair will help place employees in approximately 75 currently open positions created by the expansion.

WHO: Rubbermaid is seeking candidates with a variety of production, distribution, technical and professional skills for positions including production line associates, material handlers, mold and maintenance technicians, manufacturing, industrial and quality engineers, and indirect buyers. WHY: In partnership with the Ohio Department of Development, the Greater Akron Chamber, Portage County and InSite Real Estate, L.L.C., Newell Rubbermaid selected 212 Progress Blvd. in Kent, Ohio as the site to construct the distribution center. The site is approximately seven miles, from Rubbermaid’s Mogadore manufacturing facility, which produces food storage containers, kitchen accessories and home organization products. The new distribution site will improve efficiency and service while shipping products to customers around the country. Construction is expected to be complete in December.
