Motorcyclist hit twice in Stark County

Jackson Township, Ohio- The Jackson Township Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic accident. 

The accident occurred at 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, June 6.

Thomas McGuire, 62, of Jackson Township, was operating a 1992 Harley Davidson motorcycle

Northbound on Frank Avenue.  He was stopped in traffic to turn west on Huckleberry Street when Hillary Hurtt, 23, of North Canton failed to observe stopped traffic, and hit Thomas McGuire.

McGuire was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the southbound lanes where he struck by Frederick Ferrell, 40, who was driving a Cadillac SRX. Not realizing he had struck a human, he pulled into a parking lot on Huckleberry Street to check his vehicle for damage and located McGuire entangled in his undercarriage.

The Stark County Coroner's Office responded and pronounced Mr. McGuire at the scene. 

The accident remains under investigation.
