One dead in Stark County crash | News

PIKE TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO)- The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday afternoon.

The three vehicle crash occurred on State Route 800 between the intersections of East Sparta and Battlesburg Street.
A 2001 Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on State Route 800 and traveled left of center striking a 2001 Cadillac DeVille head on. As both vehicles collided a 1985 Honda Gold Wing traveling north on State Route
800 struck the Impala in the right passenger side.
The operator of the Chevrolet Impala, Thomas C. McCaffrey, 70, of East Sparta, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earl C. Bush, 85, of Canton, Ohio was the operator of the 2001 Cadillac DeVille. He sustained incapacitating injury and was transported to Aultman Hospital by East Sparta EMS.

The operator of the 1985 Honda Gold Wing, Shawn R. Dennis, 39, of Waynesburg, Ohio sustained minor injury. He was transported to Aultman Hospital by Quad EMS.

Canton Township Fire Department and East Sparta Fire Department assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
